Disadvantages of CD-ROM
-
Computer Availability ONLY – You must have a computer to use the CD-ROM version. You do not have to be "on line" with the Internet. Not all laptop computers have a CD-ROM drive bay.
-
Readability – Although the "book" can be enlarged, it is more difficult and tiring to read a book on a computer, mainly because of the imperceptible flicker or refresh rate. It is easier to read a paper version of a book.
-
Often Inconvenient – If you want to study in bed, don't choose a CD-ROM.
